With the ongoing uncertainty about whether we’ll be able to enjoy Christmas in our usual fashion this year, you may be wondering how you can still make it a fun and enjoyable time. While you may not be able to meet up with your friends and family, there are many other ways you can connect with loved ones and enjoy the festive spirit. Here we explore several ways to enjoy Christmas during this uncertain time.

Schedule in video calls

If you can’t physically be with your family this Christmas, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy each other’s company. Set up a zoom, skype or facetime call with your nearest and dearest, grab a festive drink and catch up from the safety of your own homes. You could have a virtual party with Christmas music and nibbles, or you could organise some fun games to play over webcam. There are loads of party games to enjoy, including charades, Pictionary, bingo and more!

Send presents by post

Do you usually hand over thoughtful presents in person? While you may not be able to do that this year, it doesn’t mean you still can’t treat your loved ones to great gifts. Instead, you can send your presents straight from your door to theirs via courier. There are now services that mean you don’t even need to leave your home, as the courier can collect your parcel from your property and deliver it straight to your friend or family member. If you choose to do this, make sure you send it early to make sure it arrives in time for Christmas day.

Tuck into tasty treats

One way to get into the festive spirit is to stock up on all your favourite treats to enjoy over the season. For instance, you could get a range of delicious cheeses, chutneys and crackers to create a cheeseboard at home. Or, if you have a sweet tooth, treat yourself to a luxury hot chocolate kit which you can enjoy while bingeing all the best festive films. And if you usually head out for Christmas dinner but are staying home this year, make sure you get everything you need to make a delicious feast such as a turkey or nut roast, potatoes, vegetables and all the trimmings.

While this festive season may not be quite the same as you’re used to, there are ways to make it fun and enjoyable for you and your loved ones. Happy holidays!
