All we want for Christmas is more Mariah Carey!

Apparently, all we want for Christmas is more Mariah Carey! After debuting her new Apple TV+ Christmas Special last week, Carey is back to breaking more records 30 years into her already impressive career.

In her hit special, Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, Carey is called upon by Santa to help with a “holiday cheer crisis” in the North Pole. According to sources close to AppleTV, the special is already No.1 in over 100 countries.

Not only does the special have Carey’s signature hits to help with viewership, but it is filled with star-power, with appearances from Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande, Billy Eichner, Snoop Dogg, Tiffany Haddish, and more.

The soundtrack is doing well for Carey as well. The album includes new versions of Carey’s original Christmas songs and interpretations of other Christmas classics. In true MC fashion, the soundtrack broke an Apple Music record, capturing the largest number of first-day streams for a Holiday album.

The lead single, “Oh Santa! (feat. Jennifer Hudson & Ariana Grande) has already become a viral hit. Featuring a much buzzed about whistle tone section with Grande and Carey, the song has topped the Apple Music charts, while the music video just passed 15 million views on YouTube.

Her signature hit, “All I Want for Christmas is You”, is also doing well, already reaching No. 2 on the Hot 100 charts this week.

It’s been a landmark year for Carey, as the fall also saw the release of her best-selling memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, which debuted to rave reviews. She also dropped her album, The Rarities, to coincide with the book, featuring previously unreleased songs from her massive catalogue.

30 years in, Mimi does not seem like she is stopping anytime soon. Now, she’s here in December to do what she does best: Spread Christmas cheer in her signature and classic M.C. way.

Queen Of Christmas: Apple TV+ Announces ‘Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special’ [Video]

2020 is already full of holiday magic and now Mariah Carey is adding her special sauce to the mix.

In true Mimi fashion, the “All I Want For You” singer is airing her own Christmas special, complete with an all-star lineup of appearances. And, to top that off, we’re getting a soundtrack featuring “brand new interpretations” of hit holiday songs, Variety reports.

“The special, entitled ‘Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special,’ centers on a crisis at the North Pole that requires help from Santa’s great friend, Carey. Of course the elusive chanteuse and ‘undisputed Queen of Christmas’ jumps into action to ‘Save the Day,’ combining musical performances with animation and a whole slew of special guests, including Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Misty Copeland, Mykal-Michelle Harris and Carey’s twins, Moroccan and Monroe,” Variety states, before going on to note: “The soundtrack will launch exclusively on Apple Music on the same day as the special and then available on other music platforms the following week, on Dec. 11.”

ALSO: It Doesn’t Get Any Sexier Than Summer Walker’s Rendition Of “Santa Baby” [Video]

So what can we expect on the soundtrack?

“It features ‘brand new interpretations’ of hit holiday songs, including a new version of ‘Sleigh Ride,’ and will feature Snoop Dogg and Dupri on select tracks. The new single and music video for ‘Oh Santa!’ will feature Carey performing with Grande and Hudson and be distributed by Sony Music, released on Apple Music, as well as other streaming platforms on Dec. 4,” Variety adds.

According to the site, Apple Music will also celebrate the special with an exclusive interview from Mariah, in which she’ll go through her favorite holiday songs and discuss her own music, as well as her memoir, with Zane Lowe on Dec. 7.

Stay tuned!

Another marketing question – Digital games as christmas gifts – Even possible?

Another marketing question - Digital games as christmas gifts - Even possible?

Hi and thanks for dropping by. 🙂

So, I would like to preference this by saying that I am so old that for the majority of my life I have gotten video games as Christmas presents. Boxes with games inside you put in a system.

But now everything is digital… Not helped by the… Ehm… the condition of the world, mixed with fewer game stores and even easier digital store accessibility.

Question: So, how do you offer up your digital video game as an ideal Christmas present for kids? Is that even possible? Or do kids simply get «Nintendo Gift Cards» and buy the games they want themselves?

Would love to hear what experiences you have with this.

And as always, when I am asking a question, here is a picture of my cat.
May it hasten your resolve as you share your wisdom with me.
